One of the largest High School basketball tournaments in western Canada has been cancelled for a second straight year due to the pandemic. The Bedford Road Invitational Tournament (BRIT) held at Bedford Road Collegiate each year has been called off for the second year in a row. A news release from the organizing committee says “Safety is of the utmost importance for all staff, students, athletes, coaches and community members.” Tournament organizers went on to say “With the current localized travel restrictions regarding the ongoing pandemic, it makes it very difficult to plan a successful tournament.” Once BRIT resumes, it will be the 53rd edition of the tournament.
