Saskatoon Police say their increased presence in the city’s Fairhaven neighbourhood on Friday morning was in connection to a shooting.

Around 9 a.m. police responded to the 10 block of Bushe Place where they found a 37 year old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to hospital where he remains for treatment of life threatening injuries.

An investigation by Patrol and the Serious Assault Unit lead to a hotel in the 1100 block of Idylwyld Drive North early Saturday morning. With the Tactical Support Unit and Crime Reduction Team assisting, a 37 year old man was arrested.

Police allege the accused was in possession of a Kevlar vest and a pellet gun. He is charged with Attempted Murder, Point Firearm, and Prohibited Possession of a Firearm.

Police say the victim and the accused know each other.
