Around 10:20 at night on Thursday, an RCMP officer from the Combined Traffic Services unit responded to a collision on Highway 13 in Weyburn. Police say in a Facebook post that the investigation determined that a pick-up truck collided with a sign pole.
The truck sustained damage and the driver was unhurt. The driver failed a roadside test for impairment, so he was arrested and taken in for further assessment. Officers found that the male driver had a blood alcohol content at or exceeding 80mg.
The sign the driver hit happened to one promoting the Report Impaired Drivers (RID) program, which encourages the public to call 911 if they suspect someone is driving impaired.
