Holiday bills are coming due, while resolutions are falling by the wayside, and that’s why today (Mon) is called Blue Monday. It’s also the days that the Canadian Payroll Association decided to highlight research which reveals that for working Canadians, financial wellness doesn’t go hand in hand with paycheque size.
The study found that for those with household incomes below $50,000, about half were financially stressed, and even for those with incomes of at least $150,000, about 20 per cent were still financially stressed. The ability to deal with brief financial setbacks, like missing a paycheque, and the saving habits of Canadians is what most affects financial stress, according to the research which included more than 35,000 responses. The report from the Canadian Payroll Association also states that workers workers more financial education in the workplace.
