From last Wednesday through yesterday, Battlefords RCMP responded to 479 calls for service. In one case, on January 14th, officers were called to a business after a report that a customer had brought in a box of parts which, when it was opened, is alleged to have contained hundreds of hydromorphone pills. The suspect was located and arrested. Police say suspected LSD, meth, and crack were seized. Thirty-eight year old Cody Caron is facing charges of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
On the 17th, four people were arrested after a vehicle stop about 3 in the morning. It’s alleged that one person tried to flee when it was discovered he had outstanding warrants, but he was quickly taken into custody. During the investigation, police allege recovering over a pound of meth, a small amount of cocaine, a pistol and ammunition. One person was released without charges and three suspects were remanded into custody.
