A 20 year old man has been charged in connection to Saskatoon’s first homicide of the year. At 1:40 Wednesday afternoon, police responded to a report of an injured person in the Caswell Hill neighbourhood. When officers arrived to the home in the 400 block of Avenue B North, a 21 year old man and 19 year old woman were found, suffering from stab wounds. They were transported to hospital by ambulance but the woman succumbed to her injuries. The man remains in critical condition.
The Saskatoon Police Service reports that the suspect was arrested a short distance from the scene. He is charged with 2nd degree murder and attempted murder, and appears in court this morning (Thurs). The victims and the 20 year old were known to each other. The name of the woman is not being released at the request of the family.
