After broadcasting for two days across the three Saskatoon Media Group radio stations (CJWW, 92.9 The Bull and 98 COOL), a generous $1,008,960 was raised during the Royal University Hospital Radiothon.
The goal this year was to raise funds to upgrade the 44 year-old outdated and cramped operating rooms at RUH.
CEO of the Royal University Hospital Foundation, Arla Gustafson says those who donated made the last couple of days a success.
Dr. Mike Kelley, the head of neuro-surgery at the hospital says upgrading the operating rooms is critical for the longevity and continuation of the hospital’s neuro-surgery program.
“It’s important that we have the best equipment and the best facilities so that we can offer a world-class safest and best care.”
