Nominations close at 2 p.m. today (Saturday, Jan. 29th) for the by-election in the constituency of Athabasca, left vacant after NDP MLA Buckley Belanger stepped down to run for the Liberals in the federal election.
La Loche mayor Georgina Jolibois is running for the NDP and former RCMP member, Jim Lemagire is running for the Sask Party.
Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. Michael Boda, says the deadline to get on the voters’ list is February 4th.
Advance voting is scheduled for February 9th to 13th and the 15th is by-election day.
