The Saskatoon Blades’ power play returned to its pre-Brandon form Wednesday, catapulting the Bridge City Bunch to a 5-4 victory over the Pats in Regina.
Kyle Crnkovic’s (pictured) second goal of the game, both on the man advantage, with 1:50 remaining in the third period gave the Blue and Gold the two points in the standings in an entertaining contest. After going 0-for-4 on the power play in Sunday’s 3-0 loss to the visiting Wheat Kings, the Blades were 4-for-5 with the man advantage against Regina. Jayden Wiens also scored twice and Brandon Lisowsky had the other tally as Saskatoon improved to 22-15-2 for the season and are now 19-for-40 on the power play in their last nine games. Connor Bedard and Cole Dubinsky each scored twice for the 16-20-1 Pats. Crnkovic also had an assist for a three-point game and re-took the W-H-L scoring lead with his 60 points, including 25 goals. Wiens also had two goals and a helper, Lisowsky had a goal and two assists while captain Aidan De La Gorgendiere chipped in with three man advantage helpers. The Bridge City Bunch out-shot Regina 31-30.
