A seventh charge of sexual assault has been laid against a man who RCMP say was working under the pretext of being a traditional healer or medicine man. In September, the Saskatoon Police Sex Crimes Unit charged 60 year old Cecil Wolfe following an investigation which began in April of last year.
As a result of the first charge, the Saskatchewan RCMP began investigating outside of Saskatoon. Wolfe was then charged with five more counts of sexual assault, but investigators believed there may be additional victims over the last twenty years in Loon Lake, Blaine Lake, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation and Saskatoon and surrounding areas.
Victims were encouraged to contact the police and that led to the latest charge for Wolfe. But investigators believe there could still be more alleged victims, and they urge anyone with information to contact the police. His next court date is February 16th.
