A 21-year-old Onion Lake man will be in court for a second time on Friday to face six charges following a robbery in Paradise Hill.

Jesse Lewis is charged with robbery with a restricted firearm, assault with a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime over five-thousand dollars, fail to stop for peace officer, carry a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence and operate a conveyance in a manner dangerous to the public.

On Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Onion Lake and Turtleford R-C-M-P responded to a report of a robbery at a business in Paradise Hill. Upon arrival, officers learned that an armed male entered the business, approached an individual and took the keys to their vehicle. The victim wasn’t harmed as the man fled with the victim’s vehicle.

Shortly after, officers spotted the stolen vehicle on Highway 797 but the driver didn’t stop when officers tried to pull the vehicle over and continued westbound until a spike belt was deployed successfully. The driver was arrested after a brief foot chase. Lewis has appeared in court already and will appear by video in North Battleford Provincial Court on February 4 at 11 a.m.
