The Regina Police Service says over the course of the weekend, thirty Parking Bylaw tickets were handed out at the demonstration on Albert Street in front of the Legislative Building, two Traffic Safety Act tickets were issued and one vehicle was towed. A news release explains that although Canada’s Constitution upholds the right to lawfully protest, officers witnessed these unlawful violations.

The Police Service says officers were there to ensure public safety and keep the peace for the protesters and other members of the public. There were two protests near the Legislature on the weekend. One, organized by the Saskatchewan Liberal Party against the loosening of COVID public health measures, and the other, was against the federal vaccine mandate for truckers.
