The damage is estimated at $40,000 from an apartment fire in the 200 block of Avenue N South this morning (Fri). The Saskatoon Fire Department reports that crews noticed heavy smoke coming from a suite on the second floor of the building when they responded. While one fire crew began the attack on the fire, another continued to evacuate everyone inside. The report of the fire came in at 9:05 and it was extinguished by 9:22.

Two people were treated by firefighter paramedics for smoke inhalation, and one was taken to hospital while the other was released with minor injuries.
