Eleven people taking part in the Coutts border blockade have been arrested, as Alberta RCMP became aware of a small, organized group within the larger protest which had a cache of firearms and ammunition at the blockade. Police were told the group was willing to use force against them if any attempts were made to disrupt the blockade.

A search warrant was executed early this morning (Mon) on three trailers, which resulted in the arrest of 11 people, and the alleged seizure of 13 long guns, along with handguns, multiple sets of body armour, a machete, a large quantity of ammunition and high capacity magazines. RCMP report that early Sunday night, a large farm tractor and a semi, both involved in the blockade, attempted to ram a police vehicle, but the officer was able to avoid the collision.

Police followed the suspects to where the protesters were gathered. The driver of the farm tractor has been identified, and police are trying to locate him. The tractor and semi have been seized. Alberta RCMP say they are resuming their efforts to end the illegal blockade, and encourages all those involved to leave immediately or relocate to the designated site for the legal protest.
