The court proceedings for a Saskatoon man accused of sexually assaulting a child is moving on to Queen’s Bench for trial. Saskatoon Police reported when 57 year old Ricky Davis was arrested in April of last year that he was charged with sexual assault. Officers were told a minor had been sexually assaulted on numerous occasions between February of 2012 and December of 2017, when the child was between the ages of 5 and 9. The suspect and the victim were known to each other.
Last April, Davis was suspended as an executive member of the Saskatoon Minor Softball Association and Commissioner of the Hustler Fastpitch zone. A public notice from Saskatoon Hustlers Fastball says the suspension was issued after the SMSL was alerted of the charges.
There is a publication ban on evidence heard in court.
Trial dates at Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench have yet to be set.
