Winterruption will return at the end of March after it was postponed in January. The decision was made to push the annual event back due to rising COVID numbers.

The festival will now run from March 31st through April 10th at The Broadway Theatre, The Black Cat Tavern, The Refinery and Amigos Cantina along with outdoor events planned.

Drag, theatre, and music from local Saskatchewan artists will take place throughout the 11-day festival. Interim Executive Director at the Broadway Theatre, Aryn Otterbein says pushing back the festival was the right call.

“At the time it was a hard decision, but the right decision to make and so we’ve been lucky enough that through some vast organization skills and a little bit of scrambling and lucky, we’ve managed to reschedule a number of performances for later dates.”

The annual event will be spread out over a longer period with performances by Morgan McMichaels, The Sadies, TOPS and Dijahsb. Winterruption will close once again with an Indigenous production called “Stories in Time”.
