It’s one of the few things everyone still has in common everyone needs to eat.
The men and women who produce the food are being recognized today during Canada’s Ag Day.
Severine Lavoie is with the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity. She says farmers supply consumers with healthy, nutritious and high quality food.
“Farmers remain the most trusted source for consumers. Canada’s Ag Day is an excellent opportunity to connect the consumers with the farmers since they are a trusted voice in the industry.”
She explains the day’s opportunities to interact, “You can post a photo of your favourite meal, you can create a recipe using all Canadian ingredients, you can also participate to one of the activities planned by all the organizations and associations across Canada.”
Stories, photos and videos are being posted on a variety of social media platforms showing how our food is grown, raised and processed.
The day is designed to engage positive dialogue and maintain trust between producers and consumers.
