If you happened to notice a convoy of trucks along College Drive Saturday afternoon, it was likely part of the “Freedom Cruise Saskatoon” organized by Slow Roll Saskatoon. According to the group’s Facebook page, the convoy started at the Flying J on Idylwyld Drive at 10 a.m. before making its way across the city. A call made to the Saskatoon Police Service by CJWW News confirmed that organizers were in contact with police before hand and it was arranged the group would stay out of downtown with the SPS Traffic Unit monitoring the situation as they travelled through Saskatoon. Police say no exact route was provided and that the group may end up gathering somewhere on 8th Street Saturday afternoon.
