Hundreds gathered at Saskatoon City Hall on Sunday afternoon to show their support for Ukraine.   The latest UN estimates indicate 400,000 have fled Ukraine.

Prior to a delegation from Ukraine and Russia’s meeting on the border with Belarus today, Vladimir Putin ordered Russian nuclear forces on high alert.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to participate in a meeting hosted by U-S President Joe Biden along with the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Poland, Romania, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and NATO, to discuss the Ukraine situation.

The UN General Assembly as well as its 15 member Security Council will meet today as well to discuss Ukraine.

Meanwhile Russia’s Central Bank has raised its interest rate in order to shore up the Russian ruble which has nose-dived

Yesterday Canada’s Transport Minister Omar Alghabra announced a ban on all Russian aircraft and operators in another retaliatory move over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The first military flight is expected to leave today as Canada sends 25-million dollars in defensive equipment such as helmets, body armour, gas masks and night vision gear to help Ukraine.
