While linebacker Nakas Onyeka signed as a free agent earlier this month with Edmonton after splitting the 2021 season between the Green and White and Winnipeg, cousins Godfrey and Kosi Onyeka, both defensive backs, will be at Riders training camp this spring. Kosi Onyeka signed on today, along with import defensive lineman David Kenney. Kosi Onyeka was undrafted out of the University of Guelph. Kenney played four N-F-L pre-season games with Tampa Bay in 2019 before joining Winnipeg later that season. Following is the news release from the Roughriders…..

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed National defensive back Kosi Onyeka and American defensive lineman David Kenney.

Onyeka’s best season came in 2021, where he earned 33 tackles, one-and-a-half tackles for loss, his first career interception and two pass breakups.
The Brampton native is the cousin of current Roughrider defensive back Godfrey Onyeka.
Kenney (6’2-250) signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019. He played four pre-season games and made two tackles before joining the Winnipeg Blue Bombers later that year.
