From last Wednesday through till March 1, Battlefords RCMP responded to 454 calls and among them was a vehicle stop on Wearing Road Saturday morning. Officers pulled over what they describe as an erratic driver around 7:30 a.m. A sword, cash and cocaine were seized. RCMP say the driver assaulted an officer at the scene in an attempt to evade arrest. Cody Caron, 38-years-old, was charged with Assaulting a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of Cocaine.

Also on Saturday on Highway 4 near Cochin shortly before 6 p.m. officers responded to a rollover. They say when they arrived, three people inside appeared unhurt but were arguing and fighting among themselves. The driver was arrested and a 21 year old woman is facing charges of Impaired Driving and Driving while over .08.

And last Wednesday officers were in another altercation during an arrest when they responded to a call in the 900 block of 102nd Street around 2 in the morning after receiving a report of a man causing a disturbance and threatening numerous people. RCMP say the suspect engaged in a fight with responding members and a conducted energy weapon was used to complete the arrest. Jim Stone, 40-years-old, is charged with three counts of Assaulting a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest and Failing to Comply with a Probation Order.
