Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is heading to Europe on Sunday through next Friday, to strengthen Canada’s solidarity with its European partners and allies in the face of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. A news release from the Prime Minister’s office says he will travel to the United Kingdom, Latvia, Germany and Poland to engage with allies on their coordinated response.

His first stop is in London to meet with Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, and he will also have an audience with The Queen. Among his other visits, Trudeau will meet with NATO’s Secretary General to discuss Canada’s support for NATO’s eastern flank and the importance of continued coordination and collaboration amongst allies and partners in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence.

Trudeau says, “We will continue to ensure that Russia’s actions do not go unpunished.”
