The Saskatchewan Realtors Association says February sales in the province reached 1,059 which is an eight per cent decline compared to the same period last year. In a news release, the SRA said while sales are starting out slow for the start of the year, the housing demand continues to remain strong as levels are over 22 per cent higher than what is typically seen at the start of the year and nearly 40 per cent higher than average levels recorded throughout 2015 and 2020.

Specifically, Saskatoon saw sales activity ease for the second month in a row compared to last year’s record levels. Despite the decline, the SRA says levels continue to remain well above longer-term trends.

Some of the pullback in sales can be attributed to some supply challenges in the market.
