Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues to impact the lives of innocent people in Ukraine and now another Saskatoon group is stepping up to support those affected by the crisis.

The Saskatoon Soaps Improv Comedy group will be donating all ticket sales from Friday’s show to the Canadian Red Cross to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.

Jeff Rogstad with Saskatoon Soaps says they have a history of helping local charities and donating to disasters. “When this situation arose with the invasion of Ukraine and the humanitarian relief that’s needed, among, among, many other things within this sad circumstance the world finds itself in, we decided it only made sense that we do this, show our support, show our solidarity in some small way.”

Rogstad says it feels good to make a contribution knowing that they’re part of a community that cares about what is happening in other parts of the world.

Friday’s show at the Broadway Theatre will be a presentation of “Mercury in Gatorade: Horrorscope”, an improvised comedy show based on audience horoscopes that will fuel the funny.

Friday night’s performance starts at 8 o’clock.
