A pandemic update report to the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Board today (Mon) says, with the public health orders no longer in place, the division is at Level 1 in its response to the virus. Level 4 is full on-line learning and Level 1 is near normal operations with enhanced cleaning, daily personal health screening, staying home when ill, and having parents and caregivers pick up students who aren’t feeling well.

Moving to Level 1 means no restrictions on things like student field trips and school gatherings, and schools are beginning to gradually re-introduce some of these activities, although if the need arises, the school division can move to a different level in its response. The report notes that there is little public information available to monitor COVID activity, meaning little information to monitor local community levels, so they will rely on local Medical Health Officer observations of data.

With spring on the way, the end of the traditional flu season, and the waning of COVID-19 cases, the school division hopes for a reprieve from the pandemic and its impacts, but the report says they will be ready to adapt if necessary.
