A 28-year-old man with a Saskatchewan driver’s licence was stopped in downtown Vancouver early Thursday, driving a vehicle that is said to belong to Premier Scott Moe.

An email from Julie Leggott, deputy chief of staff for communications and press secretary to Moe, said, “A vehicle registered in Scott Moe’s name was impounded in British Columbia this week. The Office of the Premier will not be commenting further on a personal matter.”

The vehicle allegedly ran a red light early last Thursday morning. Police pulled over the vehicle, ran a field sobriety test on the driver, which he allegedly failed.

The vehicle in question was impounded for 30 days and the driver received an automatic 90-day suspension.

Vancouver police media spokesperson Sgt. Steve Addison released an email statement to our associates CKRM in Regina, “I’m unable to confirm any names, as no criminal charges have been laid.”

Addison said no further charges are pending but confirmed that on March 10th, just before 1 a.m., Vancouver Police stopped a driver after he allegedly ran a red light. The driver was a 28-year-old man with a Saskatchewan driver’s license. He was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup with Saskatchewan plates.
