Because of the pandemic, the last Gardenscape at Prairieland Park was in 2019. Manager of Special Events at Prairieland Park, Susan Kuzma, says the province went into lockdown two weeks prior to the 2020 show.
Much like previous years, the Gardenscape Backyard Living Show will include live flowers, trees and shrubs, how-to presentations, Gardening 101 presented by USask, and a speaker’s theatre featuring a variety of gardening topics including invasive plants, container gardening and the importance of trees.
Kuzma says industry experts have told her that since the pandemic began, people have been buying up huge amounts of seeds and seed potatoes, so gardening has had quite an uptick in popularity.
She expects Gardenscape will be a good place to pick up some tips for those who are beginner gardeners. The show also includes exhibits, a trade show and marketplace for gardening and outdoor living. It’s coming up March 25th through 27th, with tickets available online right now for a dollar less than you will pay at the door.
