Around 8:45 p.m. on March 16 officers responded to a report of a camper trailer fire and house fire on the same rural property near Alida.
Shortly thereafter, police received another report, this one involving two males and an assault. When RCMP arrived they found three more buildings on fire nearby the first two reported blazes.
Despite the efforts of fire departments from Alida, Carnduff, Oxbow, Carlyle and Redvers, all five buildings were destroyed. No injuries were reported. Besides the camper trailer and residence on the same property, the nearby buildings destroyed were a vacant residence in Alida, an administrative office and an abandoned rural residence.
Anyone in the area, be it residential or commercial, with video surveillance of what happened in the incident, is asked to contact Carnduff R-C-M-P as the investigation continues with the help of Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency fire investigators.
