Saskatoon Police say two of their officers deployed their conducted energy devices after a man threatened self harm at a city business late Saturday morning.

At 11:12 a.m. police were called to a business in the 400 block of Confederation Drive after a man was seen carrying a large knife. Officers found the individual in a store aisle who appeared to be in a vulnerable state and immediately put the knife to his neck threatening to hurt himself.

The CEWs were used and a 49 year old man was taken into custody without further incident.

He was taken to hospital to be medically assessed.
