A parent posted on Twitter saying their 18-year-old was struck by a vehicle while crossing 33rd Street at Avenue D Saturday morning. A call to the Saskatoon Police Service by CJWW News confirmed the incident happened at 9:30 in the morning on Saturday. The teen was transported to hospital by ambulance with what were described as minor injuries.
A Saskatoon mother had tweeted that her son had been walking back from getting cinnamon buns at Mayfair bakery and was hit by a car while crossing the street.
She said it happened at 33rd and Avenue D and her son may have a broken leg. The Twitter conversation centered around the safety of pedestrians on 33rd in Saskatoon.
September 9, 2021, 9 year old Baeleigh Maurice was hit and killed while she was in a marked crosswalk on 33rd Street in Saskatoon. The girl had been on her way to school. A 28-year-old woman has been charged with impaired driving in the death of Baeleigh Maurice.
