Regina Police say a weeks-long investigation into the possession and sales of illegal cigarettes has resulted in two people allegedly involved being charged. Police have seized more than a million illegal cigarettes and the value is estimated to be more than $577,000.
The investigation began in early February. Search warrants were conducted in an apartment suite, two storage lockers, a motor home and three vehicles.
61-yea-old Tim Looker and 44-year-old Mohammad Ramadan, both of Regina are facing tobacco-related charges. They’re also facing a fine of just over $648,000 dollars. The two are due in court on May 3rd.
