A man charged with second degree murder in the death of a 47 year old man in 2019 has been sentenced in Saskatoon Provincial Court, after pleading guilty in October to manslaughter.
Around 4 a.m. on June 30th of 2019, Saskatoon Police found Gabriel Frank Wapass dead in the 1700 block of 20th Street West. Twenty-three year old Xavier Jimmy has been sentenced to 1,928 days in jail, which works out to about five years, four-and-a-half months. He was also issued a DNA order and is prohibited from having firearms for ten years.
The death of Gabriel Wapass was Saskatoon’s seventh homicide of 2019, in a year which saw 16 homicides.
