Saskatoon Police say a cabbie was not only robbed but his cab was stolen as well.

Around 4:30 this morning, Saskatoon Police received a report from Avenue M North and 22nd Street West that six people had been picked up by a taxi driver who robbed him and took the taxi.

The Air Support Unit located and tracked the vehicle to the 31-hundred block of Laurier Drive and watched several people flee the cab on foot leaving only the driver inside. That individual also took off a short time later but was tracked by ASU to the 500 block of Hampton Circle and then located in a backyard by the Canine Unit. ASU also tracked down those believed to be the other occupants of the vehicle who were subsequently taken into custody walking through a park near Maxwell Crescent.

A 16-year-old male has been charged with Robbery, Dangerous Driving, Evading Police, and Impersonation; a 14-year-old female has been charged with Obstruction of a Police Officer and Breach of Conditions and a 19 year old man is charged with Possession of Cocaine.
