The Saskatchewan Roughriders say they were surprised to learn of the addition of PST to sports and entertainment tickets in the provincial budget. In an emailed statement the organization pointed out that sports, art and culture were some of the hardest hit industries by the pandemic over the past two years.
As a not-for-profit sports team and despite rising inflation costs, the team says it worked tirelessly to minimize the financial impact to fans during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team says that unfortunately, it knows the government’s decision to add PST to sports and entertainment tickets will impact many in the community who are looking forward to coming together on Rider game day and for the 2022 Grey Cup.
