Saskatchewan New Democrats are calling on the Sask Party Government to cut the proposed P-S-T expansion, as outlined in the recent provincial budget, and better support industries reeling from the effects of COVID-19.
N-D-P Finance critic Trent Wotherspoon plus Parks, Culture and Sport critic Matt Love (pictured) pointed to the shock and outrage coming from organizations such as the Regina Exhibition Association Limited, Restaurants Canada and the Saskatchewan Roughriders over the imposition of 32 new tax and fee increases. The New Democrats say the budget damages these already struggling sport and culture industries, asking that the Sask Party scrap the hikes and introduce measures to support business and families struggling with cost of living increases.
