It took most of the day, but Pinehouse R-C-M-P were able to track down and arrest an armed man who invaded a home in the community, assaulted a resident and robbed the individual.
Twenty-three-year-old Jeremy Gardiner of Beauval faces nine different charges and 12 total counts after Pinehouse R-C-M-P received a report at 11:30 a.m. last Friday of a robbery that had occurred earlier that morning. The investigation determined that an armed male entered the residence, displayed the firearm and robbed an individual inside. The suspect then assaulted the individual, who reported minor injuries. The suspect was located at 9:45 p.m. on Friday in the Pinehouse community and was arrested. The firearm was eventually recovered by police as well. Gardiner was also arrested on warrants from the Ile a la Crosse R-C-M-P for breaching a previously-issued conditional sentence order. He has appeared in court and has been remanded in custody until his next appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court on April 4.
