The Saskatchewan Rush announced Saturday that the club has relieved Head Coach Jeff McComb of his duties effective immediately. General Manager Derek Keenan and offensive coach Jimmy Quinlan will take over behind the bench as associate head coaches for the remainder of the season alongside defensive coach Jeremy Tallevi.
The Rush are currently last place in the west division with a 4-10 record with four games left to go in the regular season.
“30 years in this league and this is by the far the hardest decision I’ve had to make,” said Keenan in a news release. “It’s clear we have not met expectations this year but it’s not all on Jeff McComb, He’s a great coach. He’s diligent, creative, and detailed. Jeff has done the work that’s expected of a head coach, but the team has not performed to the level of our expectations.”
McComb joined the team in 2014 and helped guide the team to three NLL titles. He was named Head Coach in August of 2020.
