Wastewater data indicates Saskatoon’s viral RNA load has gone down by 14.9 per cent in the latest report leading up to March 30th compared to the average of last week’s report.

Omicron BA.2 accounted for 70.7 per cent of the viral RNA load in Saskatoon’s wastewater.

Researchers say the decrease in the viral load could be an indication of a decrease of COVID-19 infections in the city. This may or may not be reflected in the weeks ahead due to a partially vaccinated population.

As for Prince Albert, the viral load has shot up by 288.5 per cent for the period leading up to March 28th. This indicates a rise in COVID cases in the Prince Albert area.
