Around 9 p.m. Monday night, a semi travelling westbound on the Trans-Canada Highway collided with the Main Street overpass while carrying an oversized load.

Police closed the lane while debris was cleared and for the Department of Highways to determine that the overpass was still safe.

The driver of the semi was charged and damage to the overpass and the semi-trailer unit is estimated at 250-thousand dollars.
