Ahtahkakoop RCMP say they received a report of theft on April 3 but it’s believed treasured hockey memorabilia was stolen sometime between last November and March.

The items were being temporarily stored at a rural yard.

RCMP are asking memorabilia collectors to check the list of items reported stolen and if they have made a purchase of Wayne Gretzky memorabilia via an online “buy and sell” site since as early as November 2021 and the transaction is believed to have been suspicious in nature, to report it to police. Police also want pawn and second hand stores to be aware of this theft.

At this time the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this theft is asked to please contact Ahtahkakoop RCMP at 306-468-2969 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.

Some of the items reported stolen include:

• 19 Wayne Gretzky jerseys, autographed
• large Wayne Gretzky pictures and large painting, all autographed
• autographed sticks
• autographed pucks all in display cases
• close to 10,000 cards including 2,200 of Wayne Gretzky, some autographed and one framed Gretzky Rookie Card PSA 8
• 1979 Mattel dolls still in boxes
• Figurines, some autographed
• Team Canada autographed photos
• Among other items
