Prince Albert RCMP are investigating a fatal two-vehicle accident and hit-and-run which happened early Monday morning at the intersection of Highway 263 and Okema Beach Road. Police responded around 6:30 a.m. and report that a car and a pick-up truck collided. The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 64 year old man, was declared dead at the scene. The occupant or occupants of the truck, a white 2001 GMC Sierra, left on foot before police arrived. It had been reported stolen from Leask on Sunday. Prince Albert RCMP are investigating, with help from a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist and Police Dog Services.
Punnichy RCMP are investigating a fatal pedestrian-vehicle accident which happened Sunday night on the George Gordon First Nation. Officers responded just before 10 that night. Police say a 52 year old woman from the First Nation was transported to hospital where she later died. The vehicle that hit her didn’t remain at the scene. The vehicle has been found, but no arrests have been made at this point as the investigation continues.
