Postmedia in Ottawa is reporting that the Senators have entered a bid to host the 2023 World Junior Hockey Championship with the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group, owners of the Ontario League’s 67s.
The report says the Sens organization made the decision Tuesday night, breaking away from plans to enter a bid with Quebec City. The Postmedia report adds that the Halifax Mooseheads and Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League are believed to be working on a bid to host the tournament, as well as Saskatoon and Regina, Vancouver and Victoria plus London and Kitchener, Ontario. Hockey Canada is expected to submit their recommendation to the I-I-H-F by the end of next week with that body to decide at meetings on April 25-26.
