Merlis Belsher Place will be busy this week… The National Senior Broomball championship opens this morning and runs through Saturday… 17 elite men’s, women’s and mixed teams will be on the ice surfaces… The Bruno Axemen and Bruno Bombshells are co-hosting the event…

Saskatoon will be home to this year’s National Broomball Championship. Hosted by the town of Bruno’s men’s and women’s teams, the Bruno Axemen and the Bruno Bombshells, respectively.
Broomball has been a popular and skilled sport within the town of Bruno for decades, with their men’s team holding a record of 19 provincial gold medals and three national gold medals. This is the first time Bruno has taken part in hosting a Nationals tournament in Saskatoon since 2009.
The tournament will take place at Merlis Belsher Place, April 6th to 9th. With 17 teams coming from across the country to compete in the men’s, women’s and mixed divisions. Games run daily 9:00am to 9:00pm Wednesday to Friday with championship games held Saturday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
