Two Saskatchewan women who began a cross-country walk in February to raise awareness about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls will be arriving in Saskatoon tomorrow morning (Fri). Lindsey Bishop is walking for Megan Gallagher, who was last seen in Saskatoon in September of 2020. Krista Fox is walking for her niece Ashley Morin, who was last seen in North Battleford in 2018. The two will walk into the city from the Saskatoon Shines sign at the side of Highway 16 at 9 a.m.

You can join them by parking west of Police Headquarters on 25th Street at 8 in the morning, where a shuttle bus will be available. Around 11:45, Lindsey and Krista will arrive at the Indian & Metis Friendship Centre on Wall Street for a welcoming ceremony. On Saturday, the Gallagher family is inviting the public to join them at Kinsmen Park at 3 o’clock for a celebration of Megan’s birthday.

On Tuesday afternoon at 3, the women will get back to their cross-county trek, leaving from the MN-S office on Grasswood Road at Highway 11. Metis Nation-Saskatchewan, the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, the City of Saskatoon and the Saskatoon Police Service support the Gallagher family call to the community to join in welcoming Lindsey Bishop and Krista Fox this weekend.
