Ukraine’s President says about 30 people were killed and 100 injured when a Russian rocket hit a rail station. Volodymyr Zelenskyy says in a post on Facebook that Russian soldiers, not having the strength and courage to confront Ukrainians on the battlefield, are cynically destroying the civilian population. He says, “This is evil that knows no bound. And if it is not punished it will never stop.” Russia has denied targeting civilians.
In an address to Finland, Zelenskyy said that when tyranny loses the war against Ukraine, it will be one of the greatest contributions to Europe’s security in decades, and that’s why his country needs the weapons that Finland’s partners in the European Union have. He also calls for effective sanctions against Russia, describing a sanction cocktail to be remembered just as Molotov cocktails. His message on social media is that the countries buying Russian oil and gas are funding the murders of Ukraine.
