RCMP say three people were found dead in a vehicle on a road between Leoville and Chitek Lake Saturday morning.
In a news release, Spiritwood RCMP say they received a report of three unresponsive people inside a vehicle around 8:30. EMS crews declared them dead at the scene.
The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is investigating, but since there is evidence of illicit drug use, police are reminding the public to know how to recognize an overdose and what to do if one occurs.
Slow, weak or no breathing, blue lips or nails, dizziness and confusion, can’t be woken up, choking, gurgling or snoring sounds and drowsiness or difficulty staying awake are all signs that someone may be experiencing an overdose.
If you witness someone experiencing an overdose, call 911 immediately. Emergency responders carry naloxone, a drug that can temporarily reverse the effects of overdoses.
Leoville is located about 25 minutes north of Spiritwood.
