Once again, that’s how the Canadian Elite Basketball League’s U Sports Draft will be conducted with the picking of talent to take place through a virtual platform by all 10 C-E-B-L teams before the results are made known on Tuesday, April 19. The last place Saskatchewan Rattlers will pick fourth in the first round, after the three new teams each make a selection…Scarborough, Montreal and Newfoundland in that order. The reverse order of the 2021 standings will determine the remainder of the first round picks and then the reverse order will be utilized in the second round with Saskatchewan holding the seventh choice, or 17th overall pick. Draft eligible players must be Canadian and have completed at least one full season at a U Sports institution. Non-graduates can be drafted and returned to their U Sports team and kept within the C-E-B-L’s U Sports Developmental player program. The league’s fourth season tips-off on May 25th.
