Saskatchewan New Democrats issued two separate calls to the Provincial Government Tuesday. Firstly to restore vital, non-COVID services and the other to provide immediate relief for families left behind by the affordability crisis.
With regards to restoring vital, non-COVID services, deputy leader Nicole Sarauer and Health Critic Vicki Mowat demanded the government acknowledge and address the many surgeries and non-COVID services still being deferred or canceled due to strains on the health system. The N-D-P say vital, non-COVID services need to be restored with an explanation from government as to why complicated and costly procedures needed to treat debilitating illnesses continue to be deferred.
Meanwhile, SaskPower Critic Aleana Young said the Sask. Party government needs to scrap the proposed eight per cent rate increase for SaskPower in order to give families in the province a break in the wake of rising cost of living and affordability pressures.
