A lone male occupant of an S-U-V, involved in a collision with a semi tractor-trailer unit Wednesday morning on Highway 14 about two-and-a-half kilometers west of Saskatoon, is in hospital after being extracted from his vehicle with the help of a hydraulic cutting tool.
Called to assist by the Asquith Fire Department, members of the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to the scene and were able to extract the male from the S-U-V with the special equipment. The collision occurred shortly after 9 Wednesday morning with the scene cleared by 10:52 a.m. Warman R-C-M-P had been re-routing traffic in the interim, but the highway was opened once the Asquith and Saskatoon Fire Departments were able to clean up fluid leaking from the semi.
