The Medicine Hat Tigers will select first overall in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. The draft is slated to take place Thursday, May 19th. All six teams that didn’t qualify for the WHL playoffs participated in the lottery. Saskatoon will select 13th in the opening round.
Meanwhile, Blades’ forward Kyle Crnkovic is the East Division nominee for the WHL’s Most Sportsmanlike Player. He’s up against Dylan Guenther of the Edmonton Oil Kings, Jackson Berezowksi of the Everett Silverstips and Logan Stankoven of the Kamloops Blazers. All award winners will be announced on June 1st.
The Edmonton Oil Kings will select first in the overall 2022 WHL U.S. Priority Draft on May 18th. Saskatoon doesn’t have a first round pick and will select 26th overall in the second round.
